rheumatoid arthritis

I am scheduled for a workup in two days for Lasik. In my initial visit I was asked if my arthritis was Rheumatoid. I don't know for sure. What if it is and I don't know it? My regular doctor is aware of my arthritis but has never indicated that it may be Rheumatoid. What can happen if I do have it and have the Lasik procedure? The knuckles in my hands are getting a bit knobby, but that is the only symptom I have according to what I've read about it. Anyone know the worst result from having Lasik with this condition?

I believe surgeons/doctors are concerned with any auto-immune disorder such as rheumatoid arthritis in that people will not heal well.
Although, I know of people who had cataract surgery and rheumatoid arthritis
They healed well, so not sure how they explain it
Perhaps, Glenn could shed some light on it
