laser coupling effect?

laser coupling effect?

Postby natalie » Thu Dec 06, 2007 10:38 pm

I read on several posts with astigmatism over 2 diopters that a laser coupling effect takes place. Is this true of the Visx S4 and the Ladarvision 4000? Are these lasers that a coupling effect occurs with?
Does conventional versus wavefront or custom make a difference with the laser coupling effect on these lasers? The custom costs more but I would be happy to spend that if it makes a difference.
thanks for your response

one more question about it--any ideas?

I did want to know the formula, there have been a couple different figures posted .25 and .33.
My prescription is nearsightedness of 1.5 diopters and 3 diopters of astigmatism. Is this an issue or are some machines not affected by the laser coupling effect thing. I think it is a good question to add to those 50 questions.
Thank you again
