Hi, my mom had lasik but it was just to seal the vessel behind her eye, can she benefit from lasik correction surgery? She used to wear glasses before.
I don't know where to take her, we need help. Another issue is she has no insurance and all the treatment are very expensive.
she is 58 years old and Iam afraid she will end up blind.

You mom would likely have had Argon laser surgery. The laser is used to cauterize the retina at the location of the leaking blood vessel. Diabetes are tough on the eyes.

A different laser is used for Lasik. Lasik can reduce the need for corrective lenses, but will not help your mom with complications from diabetes.

There are several organizations that assist people who need eye care due to diabetes. Start with diabetes organizations. Also, look here for other organizations that may be able to assist.
