Time of year to have LASIK

Postby GeneralPatientInquiry » Sun Jun 04, 2006 4:12 pm

Is there a preferred time of year, due to temperature and/or humidity, that a patient of LASIK surgery achieves the best results/lease complications?

There has been a lot of news in the lay press about changes in weather affecting Lasik outcomes. One of the doctors in a prominent article was misquoted and his published statement makes it appear that there are significant differences from season to season. This is not true.

There can be very small changes, but good surgeons control the atmospheric conditions in their surgical suites, and recalibrate their lasers accordingly. All surgeons worth their salt recalibrate their lasers at least once a day, sometimes more often, to accommodate current atmospheric conditions.

Pick the time of year that is most convenient for you.
