There is only one thing I miss..........

The only thing I really miss is my 'super-duper-close-up-X-ray-vision' that I had before LASIK.

Anyone who was severely myopic before will know what I'm talking about!

I wasn’t severely myopic, -3.75 and -3.25, with astigmatism in both eyes, but I certainly can relate. Before Lasik I could read just about anything up close without correction. Now I need glasses. Of course, I only had my surgery 3.5 weeks ago. I suspect that at some point during the healing process I’ll be able to read a book without glasses again. I think my days of being able to read fine print labels on cans, medicine bottles, etc., without glasses are over but at age 51 I’m not surprised.

Just my 2 cents!! Good luck.

Yes; fine print is only do-able with reading glasses now! It sounds like you and I had surgery about the same time. I can sometimes read a book without the reading glasses and sometimes not.

Right now I'm going through good-vision days and so-so vision days, which is to be expected at this point. I don't need the readers for computer anymore, though.

I believe I read that you had your Lasik on 6/22. So did I. I also go through good-vision and so-so vision days in my right eye. Everyday for my left eye is a bad vision day. I hope it improves over time. I have an eye appointment on 7/24 at which time the doc will discuss giving me temporary contacts. He said this would escalate the healing. Hopefully I shall see.

If I’m at work I can read my monitor without glasses. When I’m using my laptop, though, I need readers. So far I need readers all the time when reading a book. I’m hoping this will resolve itself in time.

Good luck with your eyeballs.
