My experience - Lasik done 8/13/2007

Had my eyes done yesterday... Experience was a little nerve racking but overall good.
Before surgery: -3.0 in RIGHT eye; -2.75 in LEFT
Cornea : 504microns RIGHT eye: 517 microns LEFT eye

I had wavefront lasik with intralase. Immediately after I could see however a little hazy. On the ride home my eyes were burning and tearing a LOT. Got home went to sleep.

Today: Eyes are crystal clear! NO pain, dryness or anything like that whatsoever... No sensitivity to light either. Just got back from post-op and have 20/20 with likely chance of improvement.

Very happy with results. Have had no problems whatsoever.
Hope this helps with anyone decistion!

Update after my 1 week post op

Postby 200mph » Thu Aug 23, 2007 8:03 pm

A lot of negative reactions to surgery here so I want to continue to share my positive experience.

As of 8/21/07, I have 20/10 vision and absolutely no problems with my eyes what so ever. I almost didn't go through with this surgery because of the stuff I was reading on the boards. Read the sticky on the top of every forum... its true, and chances are if you're here considering it you have a very slim chance of anything going bad.

Hi 200mph,

The corneal thickness you mentioned, were they before surgery or after? If it's after, do you include the flap?

Sorry, I didn't see this. The thickness that i had was pre-surgery.

UPDATE: 1 month later... regressing????

Postby 200mph » Thu Sep 06, 2007 7:09 am

I went for another post-op today and found out I had WORST vision than a few weeks ago... The 20/10 line was a little blurry and I could only make out 1 of 4 letters. Dr told me my eyes had some dry spots on them. I stopped using the artificial tears regularly for the last 2 weeks and he thinks this is the cause. I hope they return to where they were a few weeks ago  anyone experience something similar?
