Skiing soon after surgery?

Postby P.E.T.R.O.L. » Thu Dec 06, 2007 4:53 am

I was wondering if anyone has any experience to share about skiing soon after surgery? I had PRK 5 days ago (see this thread). I'm hoping to hit the slopes sometime next week.

Any issues with dryness, tearing, altitude/pressure, or the cold? I intend to wear good quality (polarized, reactalite, UV screened) goggles at all times. My surgeon says that I should be fine after a week if I'm good enough to not be at a high risk of having an impact (although this is not so much of an issue with PRK as it is with LASIK). That doesn't mean that it will be a comfortable experience though! Any advice appreciated!

Thanks!

Well, it's dumping snow here in Colorado, so I'm skiing this weekend! I'll let you know how it goes...
