Astigmatism will cause a small amount of light to be focused off center. This can cause slight blurr and/or a secondary image (ghost) effect. The ghosting may be more for objects at one distance than at another distance, so the answer is that your glasses may improve near vision because they are correcting astigmatism.

If you would like a second opinion, contact me at glenn dot hagele at usaeyes dot org and we can discuss a recommendation.

Thanks for the kind words about our website. All readers can help promote us and give us even better positioning in search engines by adding a link to us in a personal website or blog postings about Lasik. (Shameless plug)
