blurry, little unfocused, hazy right eye

Postby bada5150 » Tue Jan 30, 2007 2:14 am

Hi I had my lasik surgery done on January 15th. It has been 14days now. First two days, I had both eyes very clear sharp images. Next day, my doctor told me that my eyes are in good shape. I was reading both 20/20 vision according to chart. I was -4 and -4 both eyes before surgery.

Then third days, I noticed little fuzzy on left eyes while I was watching TV. I mean letter are very close to each other but two image. Then few days later, it went away. Now I have very sharp clear image on left eye. Then my right eye started to see little blurry. Then I started having problem reading and looking at computer because my left eye is very clear and sharp image but my right eye was little blurry and seeing (Ghost I think) image right below object. Both eyes together I had hard time reading computer because my right eye is having ghost image (maybe Astigmasm I am not sure between Astigmasm and ghost). Then I realized when I put eye drop sometimes, my right eye get very sharp clear image but ghost thing is still there little bit.

Today, I have few hours of clear image during work hours. But I am little concerned after reading about wrinkled cornea story and astigmasm.

Right now as I am typing, my right seems little hazy fuzzy.
My questions are:
1. Would this hazy fuzzy thing will go away eventually?
2. Did my cornea move somehow? so I get fuzzy hazy image?
3. Would my brain adopt this in near future?
4. Is this normal for 2 weeks?
5. I am taking a shower now everyday, is this ok?

Please let me know. I am not really sure if this is ghost or astigmasm or corneal edema or just healing process.

I will be going back to doctor on Wednesday for check up because I am scared if my cornea got moved somehow.

What you describe sounds like normal healing after surgery.

It is very likely that your eyes will settle down. Lasik is more of a six month process than a "20-Minute Miracle".

"Move" may not be quite the right term. Your symptoms indicate possible edema (swelling), temporary dry eyes, or edema exacerabated or caused by dry eyes.

It is more likely that the cause of the problem will resolve, rather than your brain needing to adapt.

Yes, very.

Showering is fine so long as you are avoiding getting water in your eyes. Your doctor should have specific instructions on when your eyes getting wet will be okay.

Ghosting - doubled vision in one eye - is a symptom of an irregular cornea. That irregularity could be astigmatism, or edema, or dry eyes, or a combination of these.

I recommend that you jot down your questions and concerns so when you are in the doctor's office you can be sure to get all available answers and will not forget something important.
