My dr. gave me some steroid drops called FML after my procedure. I am supposed to be using them 4X a day for the first month and tapering off after that. I ran out of them yesterday so the drs. office called in a prescription to "the place where I get prescriptions" (for some wierd reason when I tried to post this the website said I couldn't use the word "Phrmcy" - sorry, had to misspell it just to get it in), but "the place where I get prescriptions" won't have them until this afternoon. So, yesterday instead of using them 4x I was only able to use them twice. I didn't use them after about 2 in the afternoon. Well, this morning when I woke up my eyes felt better than they have since my surgery! A LOT better! I didn't have the dry scratchy feeling that makes me get up earlier than I would actually like to just so I can put in some artificial tears, and I didn't have all the crustys making my eyelashes stick together.
I was wondering if this is just a coincidence, or if it is because I didn't use so many of the steroid drops? It also made me wonder about the purpose of the steroid drops. From reading others' posts here it sounds as though different doctors recommend them for different amounts of time. I'd sure like to not have to use them so much since they make my vision blurry for awhile after I use them, plus if this morning isn't a coincidence, I'd REALLY like to stop using them (or at least not use as much).
