Cataract Surgery after Lasik

Postby dconrath » Mon Nov 19, 2007 8:39 pm

I had Lasik surgery in 2000. I have just been diagnosted with a cataract in my right eye. My opthamologist has informed me that I need to get specific eyeball measurements prior to my Lasik surgery. Has anyone else heard of this? Has anyone else been in this situation? If so, was the outcome succesful?

I believe they are looking for your pre-ok K's. These are numbers that your LASIK surgeon/office should have. Have you tried to contact them about this?

Thanks. I will contact my Lasik provider and ask for my medical records.

Yeah I actually learned of that before going through with the surgery. They use some type of equation for cataract surgery and have to factor in the change that occur during the LASIK surgery or something of that nature. Thats on my list of things to ask the doctor for when I go back for my one year check up. Good luck!
