Dry eyes after prk

Postby arya6000 » Fri Jan 04, 2008 6:01 pm

Hello

I had PRK about 4 month a go and I use drops about 10 to 15 times a day in each eye because of dry eyes, and in the morning my left eye is very dry. Is this a permanent thing or will it get better and get normal? if so how long will it take?

At four months your surgery related dry eye should have vastly improved. Although artificial tears can be helpful, there are many other techniques to treat the symptoms and the underlying causes of dry eye. It appears that you need a more agressive and better managed dry eye treatment program. Please read our article about PRK dry eye treatment and discuss your difficulties with your doctor.
