Possible Allergies?

Postby AGP72 » Mon Jan 28, 2008 3:55 pm

I had my lasic surgery on 05/24/07. In around October my eyes are started to feel really uncomfortable, especially at night. I would get a sensation that something is trapped under my eyelids and itchiness in the corners of the eyes. In the morning the outside corners are usually red. I went to the doctor who did my surgery and he thought that I have allergy and prescribed Patanol to me. I tried Patanol for few weeks and it didn't work. I went back to the doctor and he prescribed Lotrimax to me for 3 weeks (4drops, 2 drops, 1 drop per week) in parallel with Patanol. I felt good when I used Lotrimax, but few days after I stopped my possible allergy symptoms came back. I'm going to see the doctor again but if you have any ideas or suggestions I would really appreciate it. I’m not sure what to do – I don't want to use steroids (Lotrimax or Pred Fort) permanently and I didn't have any allergies before surgery.

Thank you,

Alex

Your symptoms do sound like allergies. Perhaps you should seek the advice of an allergy specialist in addition to your eye doctor.
