Enhancement(s) Feedback

Postby DryEye » Tue Apr 22, 2008 3:23 pm

Looking for People's experiences from having an enhancement

Compared to the initial surgery how was it in terms of:

1.) How long did you wait before having it done?
Did you try glasses before, contacts or just have it done?

2.) Dry Eye
Was this the same, worse or better than the initial lasik?

3.) Were there any complications post enhancement that you had to deal with?

4.) Did you get the visual result you expected from it?
Was your refractive error fixed and how much of it was done by the enhancement?

Feel free to add any other input that may help anyone considering one.

Thanks!

1. About 8 months IIRC. I tried contacts, but they didn't work well after the first treatment (unstable prescription and sore eyes).

2. The only symptoms I might put down to dry eye after I had after the first treatment was quite minor, after the second none.

3. Yes, DLK was detected in the first week. The usual drops cured it. This might also explain away the misty eyesight I had at all distances during the first week (even though I was still shortighted I couldn't read print up-close). I didn't feel anything though, perhaps the nerves that would have told me so had been zapped!

4. Not quite. I told to doc to aim for -0.5 and got around -1.00 to -1.25. This is fine. For anything under -2.00 I would consider living with it if possible, or at least only have one eye retreated. I don't think short-sightedness is as great a disability as long-sightedness.

Just do one eye at a time, but take the docs advise.

I had an enhancement in 2000 after almost a year and it was absolutely amazing.

Read my 9 year update.
