same problem in both eyes

Postby knight » Sat Jan 20, 2007 12:50 am

Both of my eyes have same identicle problems with starburst, contrast loss, glare, halo, light sensativity, and the degree of these problems are the same . The double vision is worse in one eye. Could this be only dry eye causing all these problems. Second opinion doc put dye in my eyes and found I still have dry eye. One of the docs where lasik was done said eyes didn't look dry and they only used a slit lamp to look with out dye.Is it possible to see dry eye with out using dye.7 months since lasik. Still regret having lasik.

You should have a proper evaluation for your dry eye, and then consider your options for your vision. Have you had punctal plugs inserted? Have you tried anything to improve your vision? Do you have large pupils?

No plugs. I am wearing glasses that help, but my vision isn't nearly as good as I had before lasik with glasses. Pupils were 6mm.
I have floaters and was told they don't matter with lasik.
They do matter because the better your eyesight the easier it is to ignore them.

Yes, dry eye could cause or exacerbate all of your vision quality symptoms. A slit lamp exam can see effects of dry eye, but a Shirmer test and a tear breakup test are the normal measurement techniques.

Please read our article about Lasik and dry eye and Lasik dry eye treatment. You probably need to seek the care of a dry eye specialist.
