Hyperopia Lasik +5.25 now 1 year later

Postby HYPERSUS » Thu May 06, 2010 1:36 am

Just wanted to post my progress...
46 yr old female Presbyopic Hyperopic +5.25 and +2.00 wore monovision Focus Night and Day contacts for 5 years.
Had lasik done (monovision) June 2009 with Intralase for flap and WaveLight at [Major Facility] in Miami.
Doctor said he normally doesn't go higher than +3.50 or so but my cornea (keratotomy ?) was very flat ( 40 )
so he felt it could be done without problems.
So far still the best money I've ever spent. No regression noted. No dry eyes. Vision did fluctuate for the
first 6 or 7 months, mainly just in the +5.25 eye and mainly in the morning getting better throughout the day.
For me.. I found the eye drops that contain 'boric acid' seem to clear up my vision the best.. ie: Optive.
Good Luck everyone !

Note: Facility name redacted.

Thanks for your posting. I'm hyperopic too and will be having my vision correction on May 21. I'm +5 and +3.5... very farsighted. I've done a lot of research so I know it will be a long road to recovery afterwards, but I'm having it done by one of the best doctors in the area using the Allegretto Wavelight so I'm optimistic things will turn out fine. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress.

Yes. I did have the surgery and I'm thrilled with the results. I had my 3 months appointment and I'm seeing 20/20. My left I was a lot worse so it took longer for my vision to sharpen but I'm very happy with the outcome in that eye too.
