Hi, I had LASIK one year ago. I have been in constant severe daily pain in my left eye since the first day of the procedure. The pain gets very intense, like having deep burns and cuts all over the eye. It’s difficult to explain the pain.
this is what I know happened at the time of the procedure: I was not given enough numbing drops in the left eye (I know this because the discrepancy I noticed) the assistant put several drops in the right eye but only one drop in the left, I didn't think too much about it at the time, assumed more would be put in later. However as soon as the surgery began on the left eye, I felt sudden intense pain and reflexively moved my entire head, not just my eye. The doctor held my head tight and continued with the procedure and told me not to make any moves.
The doctor has denied that my pain has anything to do with lasik!
I don't know the physiology behind this pain, but I know what happened during the surgery. The pain has not improved and is debilitating. I don't understand how it could have lasted this long and of course I'm even more concerned about long term damage. Any info is appreciated thanks.
