Poor night vision shortly after surgery can be cause by several issues.
Dry Eyes. Temporary dry eyes after Lasik is relatively common.
Edema. Your eyes just had surgery and swelling is reasonably expected. Uneven swelling can cause temporary astigmatism and induced refractive error.
Astigmatism. This means that a portion of your eye bends light differently. Induced or residual astigmatism can present as halos or starburts. Starbursts irregular in shape can indicate astigmatism.
Spherical Aberration. If your refractive error at the edge of your cornea is different than in the center, vision qualty can change in low light environments. If caused by dry eyes or edema, this may resolve with healing.
Undercorrection/Overcorrection. If you have residual refractive error the resulting slight blur can present as halos and starbursts at night. This can often be resolved with healing, contact lenses, glasses, or enhancement surgery (if appropriate).
