I was told that my pupil is 8 mm in diameter. The max ablation zone is 7.5mm. Should I consider Lasik at all?

The answer is that you will not know for certain if that 0.5mm difference is enough to cause you problems until after you have had surgery and than there is little you can do to fix it.

I recommend that you read Lasik and Large Pupils to understand all the issues with regard to pupil size. I also suggest you continue shopping for a refractive surgeon. Different lasers have different optical ablation zone limitations.
