Hello,
I have my surgery set for 2-15-07 and was hoping someone who has had the surgery with a high astigitism cold let me know your experience.
I have no idea how to read this so if you can help me I would be grateful

I very highly recommend that you be evaluated by a corneal specialist to rule out underlying disease, such as keratoconus.
Very high astigmatism such as yours is not easy to resolve. It would be reasonable to expect that a second enhancement surgery will be necessary to fully resolve the refractive error. You should not expect the "20-Minute Miracle" as it is reasonable to assume that Lasik for you will be a process, not an event.

thank you so much for replying. I will look into it.
I had 2 different consultations[].
I was told I would have to have 2 surgeries but I am so scared to wake up and find that both eyes are blurred. Since I keep reading that high astigs have a slower healing.

It is good to hear that your doctors have ruled out disease as being a contributing factor for your astigmatism. I'm also pleased to see that they are preparing you for more than one surgery, as this is likely to be the case.
All elective surgery is a balance between risk and benefit. Due to your high astigmatism you have an elevated risk, but that does not necessarily eliminate you from being a candidate for Lasik. It sounds like you are getting good advice and are being made aware of the potential limitations as well as potential rewards, but you need to make this decision for yourself.

I called the place that is going to do the surgery and asked if the doctor is experienced in high astigatism and was told yes that made me feel better.
I verified he was certified and then decided to check the doctor who was going to do my follow ups and OMG I fell out of my chair, turns out he has a bad record with the BBB. Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record. What can I do since his record is not good is it too late to find someone else? Can the surgeon handle my follow ups?Can I just go to any doctor afterwards?

No one is forcing you to have elective surgery. If you are uncomfortable with the doctor who is scheduled to provide comanaged care, notify the surgeon's office, be sure to tell them the reasons for your concern, and request that you be provided a different comanagement eye physician. If they cannot comply, postpone the surgery until an alternative can be arranged.
