High Astigmatism - Had It February 28th

Postby johnson1615 » Thu Mar 01, 2007 3:32 pm

Had my lasik yesterday and I CAN SEE!
I go in this morning for my post-op exam and am very excited about my results.
I can see as well as or better than I did with my glasses.
The whole procedure was awesome.
When they tested my corneal thickness with the ultrasound it measured thicker than previous reading and I was glad about that! It was 577 and 562.
My rx before surgery was -10.25 and -11.5. Will let you know the numbers after today's exam.
I have driven my son to school and read the paper today with no glasses!!!!!

Just came back from post-op exam. Was 20/20 in both eyes. Flaps look great! Ran a few errands afterward and cannot believe everything I am seeing! Right now am almost 24 hours post op!

Wow great for you! Your outcome is what we all had hoped for. I have the great vision but can't really enjoy it due to the dryness.
Thanks for sharing that some people really DO get the 20 minute miracle!

High Myopia w/ Astigmatism

Postby johnson1615 » Fri Mar 02, 2007 3:51 am

I guess I was so excited over my results that I typed in wrong subject the first time.
My astigmatism was 2.00
My vision was -10.25 and -11.5.

Anyway, drove tonight for first time. had no issues.
Do halos and other issues start immediately or do they appear over time?
Also, dry eye pain. Is this immediate or does it occur over time?
Right now I cannot be happier and I am still looking for pitfalls.

I am scheduled for my procedure next Thursday. My prescription is -7 in the left eye and -8 in the right eye with a small astigmatism. I am praying for an outcome like yours and hope I don't experience any side effects. Congratualations on the awesome outcome and enjoy your new eyes!

I am so thankful for my results and I wish you the best with yours.
The whole experience is truly awesome. The procedure was too cool to describe. [My doctor] in Nashville is my hero!
