Postby Acer » Sun Mar 11, 2007 1:37 pm

My corneal thickness measure 509 and 514 before surgery, first consult I've been to the doctor says my corneas are thin and reccomends prk. How thick should a persons corneas be for lasic?

Thank You

My doctor told me the average cornea is 500. Mine is 550. I am not sure why he told you yours was too thin. What is your prescription?

Acer,

Your corneal thickness is undoubtedly enough to have Lasik, but due to your very high astigmatism your doctor may beleive that a surface ablation will yield a better result.
