RK Surgery Complications

Postby lkouhl » Fri Apr 20, 2007 10:26 pm

Hi, I had RK surgery in the early 90's. Now my incisions are coming open and the dr says I need a cornea transplant. Does anyone have this problem or know if this is the only solution?

Thanks
Linda

You will want to seek the opinion of a corneal specialist if a full transplant is required. Thousands are successfully performed every year, but it is a relatively long recovery. You will want to explore all options including Rigid Gas Permeable contact lenses to add stability. You may want to investigate Corneal Collagen Crosslinking with Riboflavin (C3-R).
