Corneas too thick??

Postby bethallen2 » Fri Jun 22, 2007 4:43 am

My husband desperately needs lasik surgery but one doctor told him his corneas are too thick,I thought it was a good thing to have that? Should he get a second opinion??

A second and third opinion about Lasik is always a good idea. Just having thick corneas is not necessarily a problem. If they are thick for an unusual reason, that might be a problem.

Your husband may desperately want Lasik, but Lasik is an elective - arguably cosmetic - surgery. Unless he is allergic to glasses and contact lenses, Lasik is an option...not a requirement.
