Should I get a consultation?

My prescription is as follows;

OD +1.50 -1.00 180
OS +2.25 -2.25 178

Should I bother with a consultation with this level of farsightedness\astigmatism? I got by good on the right eye for years, but I would get headaches in the right rear of my head because of the left eye. If I had to have glasses to read, I am OK with that, but if possible I would prefer to be without the glasses 95% of the time.

Your hyperopia (farsighted, longsighted) and astigmatism are within the treatable range. If you are nearing age 40 and becoming presbyopic (need reading glasses or bifocals) then you may have a significant improvement in vision quality. Read about hyperopia Lasik and you may want to investigate monovision.

A comprehensive evaluation by a competent eye doctor will provide you with more details and give you a much better idea of what you can reasonably expect.
