Eyelid Disease and Lasik

I wanted to know if it is possible for someone that has eyelid disease such as Blepharitis, Meibomitis, or even Ocular Rosacea to have Lasik surgery? What are the chances of complications and what kinds of complications might they have? Thank you.

It is possible, but all three are contraindications for refractive surgery. All three can be exacerbated by refractive surgery or trigger a response. In some cases surgeons will provide Lasik or similar surgery if the patient's ocular problems are fully managed and the patient is fully informed. Lasik is elective surgery. When in doubt, it is probably best to elect not to have surgery, but you need a comprehensive examination by a competent doctor to know of your own circumstances exclude you from Lasik.
