I am 53 and had custom intralace surgery for monovision on 1/3/08. My prescription was:
OD -2.25, -1.00, 095, +2.25
OS -1.75, -0.75, 124, +2.25
Originally, the plan was to treat my left (dominant) eye for distant vision and leave to right eye untreated for reading. At first, I tried using a contact lens in the left eye to test my response to monovision. Apparently, my brain couldn't adjust so I tried using a contact lens for the right eye and the results were much better. I explained this to my lasik doctor and he concluded that I should have the right eye treated for distance instead. So far, I am happy with the results. Is it unusual to treat the non-dominant eye for distant vision and leave the dominant eye untreated for reading? Will my right eye eventually become the dominant eye? Thank you.
