Artificial tears

Is there an advantage on using perservative free tears or tears with Purite? I had both in my discharge bag, but they didn't specify which to use first. Is there any harm in using the one with the Purite first?

Purite is a preservative that dissipates into water and sodium chloride-components of natural tears-when exposed to ambient light. Well, what happens if you put it in at night just before going to bed? There is no ambient light.

In all cases, true preservative-free lubricating eye drops are the least likely to cause a problem. That is the one to start with and, in my opinion, the only kind to use.

We have an article about different Artificial Tears that you may find helpful.
