Just a general question for everyone--is edema after surgery normally gone after a months's time, two month's time, etc.?
Thanks

Much depends upon the cause of the edema (inflammation), and it is not likely to start resolving until the cause is resolved. As an example, if the edema is caused by Lasik dry eyes, the dry eye problem needs to be treated and managed before significant reduction in edema will occur.

Edema that is simply from the trauma of surgery usually is resolved within three months, but can take longer or may require medication.

Your surgeon would know best what to predict in your individual case.
