How long for the haze to go away (PRK)?

Postby prk6188 » Fri May 02, 2008 9:44 pm

My girlfriend had PRK done 21 days ago for -9 in both eyes. As of today she still has a pronounced haze. She thinks her eyes may be permanently damaged? Any experience with how long is normal for this haze to subside. Should we seek a second opinion or medical help?

Any answers appreciated as I gave her the idea. I had LASIK 6 yrs. ago with very good results.

Is she being treated for it.

If not I'm pretty sure severe hazing wont go away on it's own.

Edit and just to make sure what kind of haze are we talking about corneal haze as in whitish or vision haziness.

At -9 she is in the higher risk category for haze. Did she have MMC put on? Steroid schedule...if it's pronounced this is something the doc can treat at this stage (21 days).

Wish her the best of luck. If it's poor vision with that large a correction her heal times are going to be much greater than most.

Good luck.
