Question regarding corneal haze

I had lasek with wafefront back in October 07. I was roughly -4.00 in each eye. My right eye was razor sharp and the left was a wee bit blurry after the surgery. As instructed i took my FML drops for 3 months. Towards the end of the course when I was down to one drop per day my right eye became a bit blurry the same as the left. I'm about -1.50 in each eye now. My optomerist put me forward for an enhancment. Before the surgery I met with the surgeon whos first question after looking at my notes was "how long did you take your drops for?" I told them and they had a look in my eyes. Apparently I have quite alot of haze in my left eye and mild haze in the right so they were reluctant to carry on with the enhancement. I agreed of course as i dont want to further damage my eyes.

The surgeon has put me on FML drops hourly for the next 2 weeks and then 4 times a day for 2 weeks and then i need to go back.

Does anyone know will the fml drops help the haze after all this time and is there a possibility the haze is adding to my prescription?

I'm a bit worried my optomerist never picked this up!

FML every hour for two weeks seems rather agressive. I recommend you seek a second opinion from a corneal specialist for both the treatment plan and an evaluation of your current corneal haze situation.

Corneal haze does tend to resolve when the cause is removed, however it can take a long time. It appears from your description that your vision is not significantly disrupted by the haze. That's very good news.

You should probably use glasses for the existing refractive error while this resolves.
