Overcorrection?

Postby sara43 » Thu Jul 24, 2008 2:52 am

I had wavefront lasik 5 weeks ago and have been at 20/20 in my right eye and slightly less than 20/20 in my left eye since my 1 week appointment. My distance vision is exceptionally good. It seems like I can see better than I ever had with glasses or contacts. My concern is with my close vision. Before lasik I was needing reading glasses when I had contacts in or progressive lens glasses to work. My reading glass strength was +1.5 and I was prepared to need reading glasses for all close work after lasik. At my 4 week check my reading glass prescription was +1.25 in my right eye and +2.25 in my left eye. I'm kind of worried about this large difference between my eyes and wonder if I was overcorrected. My left eye has been slightly blurry from day 1 mostly noticeable with close work even with reading glasses on. I'm also concerned about my intermediate vision, while I can see like an eagle across the park, my immediate surroundings are not so clear. I can certainly function but it is a bit disorienting. Any ideas?

You should read our article about sudden need for reading glasses after Lasik.
