Antihistamines and Dry Eyes

Postby dinoparker » Tue Sep 09, 2008 3:44 pm

I had Lasik in May and did extremely well the first month. During the second month post-op I began having all kinds of dry eyes issues. Finally, I looked at my calendar to see what could have changed. I began using an antihistamine spray daily at the end of the first month. I have been off of the spray for 11 days and my eyes are already so much better. Just a note that lasik patients really need to check the medications they are using as this can cause dry eyes. Other medications can cause problems too, not just antihistamines. Hope this is helpful for someone

It is indeed helpful. We often forget how over-the-counter medicine and even foods can affect our bodies.
