Nonprofit

The USAEyes website and associated public services are provided by the Council for Refractive Surgery Quality Assurance (CRSQA). CRSQA is a nongovernmental, nonprofit, tax exempt organization. See About CRSQA for more details.

Fees From Doctors

CRSQA requires fees from doctors for whom patient outcomes are affirmed and certified. Initial patient outcome certification costs are $3,250. Doctors are reevaluated quarterly. The quarterly recertification fees are $1,250. CRSQA charges some surgeions a fee to administrate Lasik patient grants; these fees vary from zero to $300 per grant. Through certification fees and grant administration, Lasik doctors participate in the funding of CRSQA's services.

Surgeons do not pay CRSQA referral fees or a finder's fee for patients who use CRSQA's Locate Lasik Doctor service. CRSQA does not receive a payment for each visit to a doctor's website from the USAEyes website, nor is CRSQA paid for each person who retrieves a doctor's information from the USAEyes website..

No Fees From Patients

CRSQA does not charge patients for services provided, does not accept charitable contributions, and does not accept commercial advertising All operating funds are derived from fees collected from doctors.
