What I've Learned

I'm considering SupraLase (surface procedure) monovision correction and I've about 98% decided to have it done. I've been monitoring this web site for about two weeks, I've done a lot of reading and this is what I've learned.

1. The older you are the more likely you are to have dry eyes.
2. If you elect to have the surgery, you may have problems and you may not.
3. It can take anywhere from days to weeks to months to know if your surgery is successful.
4. Since I'm older (60) it will almost surely take longer to heal and adjust.
5. If I go ahead with the surgery, I mave have 'ghosting', halos, starbursts, and less than desirable eyesight for a while.
6. It's important to do your due diligence and research the pros and cons.
7. It's important to be patient while healing, tell your surgeon your concerns and be pro-active during the healing process.

All this said, I am still going to have the surgery (pretty sure) and hope for the best. It will probably be within the next month. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress.
