Refractive lens exchange

I am planning to have RLE but am feeling a bit nervous. I am scheduled to have both eyes done on the same day - is this OK? Also do you have any information on the lens called Lentec or Tetraflex as these are the ones that the clinic seems to prefer. I am having nearsightedness treated as well as hopefully acheiving good reading sight. I am 53 and have worn hard contact lens for 37 years. I have been told that I do not need ot be without the lens for more than a week for this type of operation because of the fact that it is a lens exchange rather than laser treatment.

Any help in these matters would be greatly appreciated!
