They may be good numbers, but they are not the only numbers and are arguably the least reliable method to measure Lasik success.

This is no reflection on your individual doctor, however the 20/Whatever measures vision based upon black hard-edged well-known letters on a bright white background in a light-controlled environment at exactly 20 feet away. This is not real life. A person with severe night vision problems after Lasik may be able to see 20/20 or better in this environment, but be unable to drive at night because of halos and starbursts.

For a surgeon to become certified by our organization, we evaluate patients based upon what the patients perceive, and not just their vision perception.
