Best Laser Device

Looking for some advice re which laser device would be best for me (other factors including surgeon experience, skill etc all being equal, which I understand are very important)
My eyes are:
L -2.75 myopia, -1.25 astig
R -2.50 myopia, -1.50 astig
Corneal thickness 540nm.
Pupil diameter 7.1mm (this is what I was given at Ultralase - I think artificially dilated).
I was thinking a surface treatment, lasek, epi-lasek or prk.

This is an alarmingly large pupil size. Verify the naturally dilated pupil size and compare that to the ablation zone. See our Lasik pupil size article.

I am personally a fan of surface ablation. Although there is a relatively low probability of a Lasik flap complication, no flap means no possibility of a flap complication. As a general rule, no possibility of a problem is better than a low probability of a problem. That said, PRK has a much slower healing period, has some discomfort, and Lasik is highly successful.

Been busy for a while!...

I've had my pupil size checked: 6mm in room with lights on, 8mm in dark (measured by placing a tool that covers the eye to ensure dark) (large pupils I understand) both without artificial dilation.
Other stats remain as above except corneal thickness now measures at 555.

I'd be grateful for any advice re best laser device.
