Staar Visian Toric ICL FDA Approval Delayed

For those waiting for the Staar Visian T-ICL to be approced by the FDA, it looks like this summer at the earliest. Most were hoping it would have already been approved by now.

The "T" in the "T-IOL" means toric, which means that the STAAR phakic intraocular lens would be designed to correct astigmatism as well as myopia. The actual long-term results will be interesting as all intraocular lenses have a tendancy to shift and rotate. Since astigmatism is directional, any rotation would be problematic.
