Just curious how different is lasik compared to 10 yrs ago? Im asking because the salesman told me the procedure is alot safer than it was 10 yrs ago. I understand there's advancements in equiptment and laser.

There have been a few large changes and many small changes. Wavefront-guided laser tends to provide a better outcome. Mechanical microkeratomes are much more accurate and consistent. Laser microkeratomes now exist. The current generation lasers are more accurate with a better ablation pattern.

What is most important is that in the past 10 years there have been over 11 million surgeries and the industry has learned a lot from all those patient outcomes.
