Glenn, I know this a discussion board for Lasik. Maybe you know of one that I can go to for cataract surgery in the future. But for now could you tell me what is involved in a glare test? I am guessing that this is something I need to fail in order for insurance to pay for my cataract surgery.

A glare test is a method to determine if a cataract (or other aberration) is creating glare on the retina and thereby reducing the quality of vision. A glare test is a measurement that can help determine if a cataract should be removed, however there are other methods such as inability to correct vision better than 20/40 and the presence of a cataract.
